On
Tuesday, December 13, 2011, several Lebanese and Palestinian youth and student
organizations issued a statement in
which they called on all sides not to invite musical troops who have visited
the "Zionist entity", thus covering Israeli crimes and separating art
from justice. The organizations called for the boycott of "all concerts,
companies and troops supporting the Zionist enemy" and urged "Mix FM"
to withdraw its invitation to DJ Armin Van Buuren, who is scheduled to perform
at BIEL on December 30, because of the concerts he previously held in Israel.
The statement also reiterated the support of these organizations to the Lebanese campaign to boycott Israel, the "Boycott – Divestment –
Sanctions” (BDS) campaign, the Center for Palestinian Refugees’ Rights in
Lebanon "A'idoun" and the Adab magazine, in the complaint filed
against them by Jyad Murr’s 2U2C production company. Youth
and student branches of the Free Patriotic Movement, Hezbollah, the Amal
Movement, the Popular Nasserite Organizarion, the Lebanese Communist Party, the
People's Movement, the Union of Young Democrats and the Murabitoon, signed the
statement. |
