Kuttab
Production Company announced that its movie “24 Hours in Jerusalem” is funded
by German sources, thus denying claims of the Palestinian Campaign for the
Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel that the film is funded by Israel and
considered an act of naturalization. The
production company stated in its letter to the SKeyes Center that “the film is
based on the movie “24 Hours in Berlin” and aims to portray the pain,
aspirations, suffering, and ambitions of the Palestinians through their daily
lives in their city. Kuttab Productions is a Palestinian company based in East
Jerusalem and is solely responsible for all characters from East Jerusalem that
will appear in the film, and has absolute control on deciding the film makers
and crew. The funds for the film are raised primarily from two German public TV
channels that are Bayerischer Rundfunk and ARTE Germany, as well as funds from
ARTE France and the Finnish broadcaster YLE”.
