Thursday , 16 October 2014

How are online media changing the very foundations of news production and broadcasting in the Arab world? What impact are they having on the public debate?

At a time when the Arab world is facing existential challenges, the 4M Forum in Beirut from October 17-19, 2014, will analyze the role and place of online media in this complex and highly charged context.

At the forum, more than 250 stakeholders from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia will have the opportunity to discuss the practices, new tools, ideas and innovations that they are implementing as part of their everyday activities and to describe the changes that are occurring in the region, in particular the increasing power of citizen journalists.

4M Beirut Forum is organized by Canal France International (CFI) and the SKeyes Center for Media and Cultural Freedom and will be held at the French Institute of Lebanon, thanks to the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and the European Union, in partnership with BBC Media Action.
