The International News Safety Institute (INSI) has launched a simple but comprehensive, illustrated pamphlet in both English and Modern Standard Arabic, explaining the fundamentals of trauma emergency support with little or no kit.
This guide was developed in partnership with the Samir Kassir Foundation, whose team members have helped and supported this project all the way through.
This guide is the brainchild of
Ramy Ghaly, former combat medic and journalism safety trainer and expert, who also wrote this document. The content of this guide is endorsed by one of the UK's highest authorities in this field,
Dr Chris Wright, Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine, editor of the Trauma Care Pre-Hospital Manual and the Pocketbook of Emergency Care: A Quick Reference Guide for Paramedics.
Of course this guide is only as helpful as it reaches those who may most benefit from it. Please share it as widely as you can, particularly with organisations supporting Gaza's journalists. We kept the resolution as low as possible to allow for easier downloading but it's still not a very small file so it is essential that it is downloaded at the first opportunity and studied in advance, rather than at the time of actual need.
