The Facebook page of Azaz Rebels reported on Saturday that the Syrian
rebels detained the journalist Fidaa Itani.
Azaz coordination committee of the Syrian revolution declared on Saturday the
arrest of the journalist Fidaa Itani, who works for LBCI and another channels,
due to the incompatibility of his work with the course of the Syrian
revolution, noting that Itani was placed under house arrest for a short period
and will be released after the completion of all required statements.
The committee noted that the reports and videos did not prove his involvement
with any party against the revolution, but his work as a journalist is no
longer accepted in the regions under the rebels’ rule.
Accordingly, LBCI called Abou Ibrahim who confirmed that Fidaa Itni is in
custody of the rebels, noting that Itani was working with a group of rebel
fighters in Aleppo and the fact that he was recording videos of the operations
made them doubt his work, leading them to transfer him to Azaz and deliver him
to the Abou Ibrahim.
