On December 15, 2011, the Lebanese
Broadcasting Corporation (LBC) management informed Mireille Akiki (presenter),
Myrna Hachem Seif (reporter), Nadine Kfoury (reporter), Ziad Moukarzel
(director), Imad Rajji (director) and Farah Hani (phone receptionist) of the
termination of their employment at the end of the year. In an interview with
the Skeyes Center for Media and Cultural Freedom, Rajji said that the station’s
financial difficulties were cited as the reasons for their dismissal. He added
that the issue of financial compensations has not yet been settled, fearing
further dismissals of employees in the near future.
